"Crack Potatoes"

I found a great recipe on pinterest and thought I would share.  It is called "Crack Potatoes."

16 oz. of sour cream
1 package of ranch dip mix
3 oz of real bacon bits
2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese
pepper
about 15 or 16 oz of frozen shredded hash browns (half of a normal size bag)

Mix the sour cream, ranch dip mix, bacon bits, and 1 cup of cheddar cheese.  Then you mix in the hash browns in.  Next spray a 8x11 pan and put mixture in.  Sprinkle the other cup of cheese on top and some pepper.  Bake at 400 degrees for about 30 min.  Enjoy....they are so good and addicting!  :)

Back-Yard Wars

Today in kindergarten, we played a game called "Back-Yard Wars."  The kids fell in love with this game.  Basically you divide the room up in halves or if you are outside you set your boundaries to have two equal sections for "back-yards."  Then you divide the kids up equally and tell them with yard they are in.  Make sure there is a line that they are not allowed to pass....they can't be in each others back-yard.  You give them soft yarn balls (represents trash) in each yard, start the music, and have them try to keep the trash out of their back-yard and into their neighbors.  When the music stops they have to freeze and see which back-yard has the most trash in it.

Kids love this game for a few reasons......they get to throw stuff without hurting their friends, they are getting rid of energy and frustrations in a good way, and they are having fun.

This is a great game that even I love.  They kids had a ball throwing their "trash" around, even at me!  Fun times in kindergarten. :)

Kindergarten

The school year has flew by.  I will only be with my little cherry blossoms for another 14 days.  I had a great class this year, couldn't have asked for a better one.  Even though they are little, they have big dreams and hopes, and I pray that they all come true.  Parents and teachers need to cherish every moment with their children.  They need to encourage them to be the best they can be.  They are only little for so long, so let them be little and love every moment.  I know I have cherished, enjoyed, and loved every moment with my kindergarteners.  I will miss them dearly.

"So let them be little 'cause they're only that way for a while.
Give them hope, give them praise, give them love every day.
Let them cry, let them giggle, let them sleep in the middle.
Oh just let them be little.

So I am back.  This music video "Homeboy" by Eric Church is one of my new favorites.  I love a lot of his songs, but this one touches me at the moment.  I feel like sometimes people get lost and forget who they are and where they want to go in life and they just need to go home and get a grip.  It is hard sometime, but it is possible.....
